Alaskan waterways are the new bandstand.
A floating concert among the icy fjords, foggy bays, and forested mountains of Southeastern Alaska. Why not?
The largely undeveloped, 49th state is filled with many things — remote fishing villages, scenic parks and rugged mountains, 100,000+ glaciers. Yet it does lack some things: roads and specifically ones that connect, making it challenging to “take a (classical music) show on the road.” So Nate Parker and his merry crew of intrepid music makers turned a historic 100-foot tugboat into their go-to venue and took their show on the water.
With a few safety updates — life jackets, fire extinguishers, and flares — the tugboat will be on its way, bringing musical magic in both majors and minors to the remote Alaskan homesteads of Admiralty, Baranof, and Chichagof Islands.
An awesome ahoy to all!
