A Podcast About Using Your Voice
For a long time, Lydia Tremaine wasn’t the kind of person who made a lot of noise. Living in a conservative community, the former Miss Indiana learned to keep quiet. But over time, she became an impassioned advocate—for LGBTQIA+ rights and for keeping the arts alive and funded in school across her state.
“Being an advocate changed my confidence level and helped me be brave coming out as pansexual,” she says. “This life-changing work made me realize I wanted to show others how easy it is to use their voices to advocate for something they are passionate about.”
Lydia launched the Act Now Advocacy Podcast as a way to achieve that goal. The show will give her the opportunity to sit down with people who are doing the kind of work that makes real change feel possible; her guests come from diverse backgrounds, but all are determined to advance efforts to build a truly equitable and inclusive world.
With our grant, she’ll be able to pay for a high-quality microphone and laptop, as well as better recording and editing software to professionalize her project. A podcast that champions unique perspectives while pushing for progress? You know we’re all ears.
