Grant #22

Think Before You Type

July 15, 2013

This is what happens when two sisters take on cyberbullying.

When teen sisters Lauren and Victoria Coaxum saw how deeply cyberbullying was impacting their generation they took matters into their own handsâ or social channels, if you will.

Think Before You Type is an anti-cyberbullying that encourages Generations Y & Z to stand up against cyberbullying (and bullying of any kind), use the Internet “for good”, and promote positive self-esteem. In addition to employing Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Tumblr to inspire their community, the girls interview bands and public personalities about the issues. With this grant, “L” & “V” plan to file for nonprofit status and purchase equipment that will allow for more awesome video content! Take a look at what they have already accomplished below.

Visit the Think Before You Type website to check out these lively discussions and weekly video dares, demonstrating how you can contribute to the movement. Inspired? Have your own awesome idea? Apply for your own grant here!
