A decision-based narrative game that teaches young adults about sex & positive body image.
Catt Small is a maker of all things interactive. She is a game maker, product designer, and developer who is passionate about finding ways to improve the lives of people through design. One of her biggest interests is finding ways to increase empathy through interactive media, and covers a range of topics including but not limited to race, gender, and sexuality.
Her latest project, SenseU, is a sex education game that aims to help young Americans between the ages of 18 and 25 to become more confident in their bodies by teaching them how sex works. Despite the fact that sexual activity has many benefits, many people in America think of sex as a negative activity. This game aims to reverse that perception by enabling users to communicate with digital characters who have questions about sex. In SenseU, players assume the role of a college resident advisor. By guiding and advising in-game classmates via a text messaging interface, players will learn about sex in a consequence-free space. SenseU will be available on Google Play and the App Store for FREE! Awesome.
Catt will use our AWB grant to commission art for the 8 chapters in the game. To learn more about SenseU, click here. To learn more about Catt, visit her website and follow her on Twitter. Rock on, Catt. We LOVE seeing women crushing the STEM field!!
