A Psychiatric Clinic in Nashville Is Helping Patients Find the Music Again
The word “wellness” gets tossed around a lot, but it has a simple meaning. It means the state of being in good health and of feeling whole. That’s what the East Nashville Wellness Center wants for its patients. The clinic’s passion is to provide mental health and substance-use services to those in need. Their interdisciplinary team allows them to provide a variety of services such as traditional medication management, medication assisted treatment, psychotherapy, and holistic practices such as yoga.
Board member Jenny Karr explained that the center is committed not just to improving its patients’ mental health, but to helping them “find the music again.”
East Nashville Wellness Center works with a diverse population. Our grant will be used to offset the costs associated with running the clinic, from intake to therapy to medication management, particularly for patients who would otherwise not be able to afford care. The blues are for singing; when it comes to living, East Nashville Wellness Center wants to teach its patients a new tune.
