Helping to bake the latest, greatest food chains for foreign-born women and minority entrepreneurs.
Providing foreign-born women and other minorities the launchpad they need to get a foot – and their food – in New York’s business doors, Hot Bread Kitchen is MUCH more than a regular bakery.
An innovative non-profit enterprise, HBK provides new business owners with the tools to build economic security, through leveraging the city’s multi-billion dollar food industry. With Project Launch, on-the-job baking training is provided, as well as English as a Second Language courses, and professional skills that boost marketability while ensuring fair wage employment.
HBK Incubates provides comprehensive support to entrepreneurs in the early stages of starting a business. Since launching in 2011, HBK Incubates has supported the growth of 63 businesses and graduated 5 businesses. AWB funding will be used to address HBK’s general operating costs, enabling every aspect of their dynamic programs to continue intact.
