Latin Wealth

Financial literacy isn’t something you just pick up. It’s a skill that has to be taught and cultivated, and Chris Belloso knew from a young age that he wanted to help others in his community access it. Raised by a single mother in what was considered a low-income household, Chris went on to become not just the first high school and college graduate in his family, but its first investor too. 

He founded the Latin Wealth platform to share insights about business, entrepreneurship, investing, and health through podcasts, webinars, and in-person workshops. Chris says his goal is to help close a persistent wealth gap. According to a McKinsey report published in 2021, the wage gap for Latinos has climbed to $288 billion per year. Research also shows that banks are less likely to lend to Latino business owners. Chris wants to see those realities change, and he’ll use our grant to upgrade his podcasting equipment so that he can reach even more people with a high-quality production. We can’t wait to hear his two cents!
